Travel Programs

The Travel Committee of the AAMC plans exciting trips that feature a wide range of destinations, activities, and educational opportunities—and the camaraderie of traveling with other alumnae.

2015 Tours

Spain: Valencia and Barcelona
June 8–17, 2015

Spain is a melting pot of diverse civilizations. This educational odyssey showcases its best treasures, beginning in Valencia, where the blue sky stretches from the azure water of the Mediterranean Sea to the craggy heights of the coastal mountains. In Barcelona, walk through medieval streets, see the Olympic Stadium, take in panoramic views from the hilltop retreat of Montjuïc, and marvel at the whimsical creations of Antoni Gaudí.

Canadian Rockies
July 23–29, 2015

Tucked away in the breathtaking Canadian Rockies are the legendary resorts of Lake Louise, Jasper, and Banff. Revel in the opulence, history, and graceful hospitality of these celebrated lodges. Ride the gondola up beautiful Sulphur Mountain and take a narrated cruise on the pristine waters of Maligne Lake.

St. Petersburg
August 23–31, 2015

With its jewel-like cathedrals and stunning museums, St. Petersburg is a masterpiece of design and ingenuity that rivals the great capitals of Europe. Discover its highlights with a panoramic tour and visits to famous landmarks, early entrance to the State Hermitage Museum to see its extensive art collection, and a performance at the famous Hermitage Theater.

China and the Yangtze River
September 2–16, 2015

Travel to famous landmarks, including the Great Wall, Tiananmen Square, and the Forbidden City. Marvel at the Terra Cotta Warriors in Xi’an and cruise the Yangtze River to see the spectacular Three Gorges. See the Master of Nets Garden in Suzhou, journey to the water town of Hangzhou, and take in a theatrical performance.

Southwest Parks
September 25–October 5, 2015

Stand in awe before the Grand Canyon, enjoy a cruise on Lake Powell, and take a four-wheel drive tour through Monument Valley. End the day with a Navajo cookout and story telling. Observe unusual rock formations in Arches National Park, including Balanced Rock and the famous Delicate Arch.
